School-Based Behavioral Support
South Shore Autism Center (SSAC) provides ABA services to school districts, collaborating with school teams to support student behavior, engagement, and IEP progress. We support schools in the following areas:
- In-classroom student support
- Behavior planning and intervention
- Consultation for school teams
- Professional development for staff
- Data collection and progress monitoring
- School program evaluation
In-Classroom Student Support
SSAC clinicians provide in-classroom behavioral support during the school day. Under BCBA supervision, Behavior Therapists and RBTs deliver individualized support to help students build positive behaviors, follow routines, and engage in learning while progressing toward IEP goals.
Behavior Planning and Intervention
BCBAs design custom behavior support plans aligned with each student’s IEP goals. These plans focus on understanding the function of behavior and teaching positive alternatives. When appropriate, BCBAs conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the causes of challenging behaviors and guide effective intervention planning.
Consultation for School Teams
SSAC clinicians collaborate with teachers, administrators, and special education staff to support the implementation of effective behavioral strategies in the classroom. We provide practical guidance and ABA-based strategies to help school teams address behavioral challenges and support student engagement.
Professional Development for Staff
SSAC training programs help educators better understand and support their students with behavioral and developmental needs.
Training topics may include:
- Understanding behavior through an ABA framework
- Effective classroom behavior supports
- Strategies for supporting neurodiverse learners
- Implementing behavior plans consistently
Data Collection & Progress Monitoring
Data collection is a core component of ABA services. SSAC clinicians implement structured systems to track student progress and evaluate behavioral interventions. School staff receive guidance on maintaining reliable data practices to support informed decision-making.
School Program Evaluation
SSAC provides program evaluations for school districts seeking strengthening behavioral support systems. Through observations, staff feedback, and data analysis, our clinicians identify strengths and opportunities for improvement and provide actionable recommendations.
Collaborative Partnership
Our goal is to work as an extension of your school team — bringing clinical expertise, practical strategies, and collaborative support that helps students succeed in the classroom.
