Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is a proven therapy that helps children learn by breaking lessons into small, manageable steps—and celebrating progress along the way. ABA helps us understand: how behavior works, how behavior is affected by the environment, how learning takes place.

SSAC uses Naturalistic, child-led ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) to promote positive behaviors such as communication, social engagement, play, imitation, independence, and classroom readiness as well as reducing any challenging behaviors. Our instruction happens during naturally occurring routines to capture the child’s motivation and to improve application of the skills to the “real world”.
No, it is not a problem. Children at SSAC are not required to be toilet trained to receive services. Moreover, our staff have extensive experience supporting children in learning to use the toilet appropriately.
All children who receive services through SSAC have an autism or Down syndrome diagnosis, however, children can have an addition diagnosis as well.
For preschool children participating in center-based services, SSAC offers limited speech services as well as feeding therapy available at the center depending on your insurance provider, child’s clinical needs, and hours your child attends SSAC. We do not currently offer OT or PT services. Your child’s BCBA will be happy to collaborate with any outside service providers.
Families are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the center, as transportation costs are not covered by medical insurance.
